Whisper Rock Estates has three gated points of entry: the main gate at Hayden Road and secondary gates at Lone Mountain and Pima Roads. The automated gates are triggered by transponder cards installed in authorized vehicles. It is imperative that transponders are properly installed in vehicles to operate correctly. Click Here for the easy-to-use transponder installation guide.
Activity at secondary gates is monitored by Gate Staff via a day-night camera system with DVR recorder. Secondary gates can be remotely operated from the gate post and are equipped with an intercom device for communication with Gate Staff members. Per code, all three gate locations are equipped for automated access for emergency personnel such as fire, paramedics and police.
Transponders are available to restricted groups including residents, WRECA staff, contractors (on-site management personnel only), and WR Golf members and staff. All other visitors must check in at the main gate. Residents maintain 24-hour access through all gates, while transponders for other groups are programmed to be more restrictive with respect to duration of authorization, hours of access and location of access. Access conditions for individual transponders can be remotely updated from the Gatehouse at any time by WRECA staff, including full termination of access privileges. More information regarding groups eligible for transponder access to the neighborhood can be found in the community’s access policy (click here to view WRECA’s access policies).
Gate open-close cycles are timed to comfortably allow a single vehicle to make it through. All gates are also equipped with safety loops that reverse closing gates if a vehicle ever gets caught in the middle for some reason. When entering behind another vehicle, you should always wait fo the cycle to complete (ie for the gates to fully close) before proceeding through. If you notice a vehicle trying to “piggy-back” behind an authorized vehicle to gain entry into the project, please report it to Gate Staff immediately. There are times when WRECA management will allow large/heavy trucks or other such vehicles access through secondary gates to minimize their route through the neighborhood. This is authorized on a case by case basis for safety reasons and to minimize wear and tear on streets.
Transponders are available for purchase from the WRECA at a current rate of $75 for a new transponder and $50 for a refurbished transponder. Please note that transponders operate by emitting a signal, so they do have a finite “shelf life” and will require replacing at some point. If you have a question regarding transponder access for family members or others that visit your home regularly, with respect to proper installation, or for information regarding additional transponder purchase please call Anne Marie Fitness at (480) 575-5555.
